— Healthier and Informed Generation

Improved Health and Education

Breaking the cycle of malnutrition, illiteracy and poor health, and creating a healthier, more informed and empowered generation

Aparajita Samajik Samiti is deeply committed to combating malnutrition, enhancing early childhood education and promoting health awareness among rural communities. Recognizing the critical gaps in nutrition and pre-school education, especially in villages, Aparajita has been implementing a comprehensive child development programme over the past two years.

Beyond early childhood, Aparajita is actively working to ensure education and health awareness among youth and adolescents. Under various programmes, it has promoted school enrolment and retention ensuring that children, especially girls, can continue their education. It has conducted puberty and reproductive health awareness sessions for adolescents, educated young girls on menstrual hygiene management, implemented WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) initiatives and strengthened community awareness on primary healthcare services, ensuring families understand and access available healthcare facilities.

By integrating nutrition, education and health awareness, Aparajita is breaking the cycle of malnutrition, illiteracy and poor health, and creating a healthier, more informed, and empowered generation.

Impact

Four community-based learning and nutrition centres, each with a capacity of 25 children, set up in Fakharpur block of Bahraich district. These centres cater to children under age five, providing:

  • Daily nutrition support – Fresh milk and biscuits (six days a week)
  • Educational resources – Pre-school learning though structured activities
  • Basic essentials – Uniforms, shoes, school bags, and education kits
  • Family support – Dry ration twice a year to support household nutrition

Through these efforts, 130 children have successfully overcome malnutrition, ensuring they grow up healthier and better prepared for formal schooling.
