The organization’s efforts include formation of community-based disaster management committees, training of local volunteers in risk-informed disaster management and emergency response, developing village and school disaster management plans, conducting mock drills for schools and communities to enhance preparedness for floods, cyclones and other natural disasters and working with local governance bodies to improve flood control measures, early warning systems and climate-resilient housing.
