Aparajita Samajik Samiti is implementing the “Digital Saathis for Inclusive Democracy Supported through an innovative grant, this initiative aims to strengthen civic awareness, democratic participation, and digital literacy among marginalized rural communities of Kaisarganj Block in Bahraich district.
About the Program
This three-month community-driven initiative focuses on making democratic participation more inclusive, digital, and accessible. By combining grassroots leadership with simple digital tools, the project aims to empower citizens—especially those in remote and underserved areas—with essential knowledge about:
• Constitutional rights and duties
• Voter awareness & informed electoral participation
• Gram Sabha engagement and local governance
• Digital civic learning through what’s App and QR-based content
Key Achievements So Far
The induction phase of the project has been successfully completed across the intervention areas of Kaisarganj Block. Community stakeholders, local volunteers, and Digital Saathis have been oriented about project objectives, expectations, and civic learning tools.
Planned Outcomes (By End of Project Cycle)
• 45 trained Digital Saathis will serve as grassroots civic educators, leading discussions, mobilizing communities, and promoting democratic participation.
• 150 QR-enabled posters will be placed in strategic public areas to ensure easy access to bite-sized civic education content.
• 2,250 families will be connected through WhatsApp-based civic learning groups.
• The project aims to reach 11,250 individuals across 15 Gram Panchayats with simplified civic knowledge, voter education modules, and constitutional literacy resources.
Why This Initiative Matters- Rural and marginalized communities often face limited access to civic education and democratic information. Through digital micro-learning, hyper-local outreach, and community-led engagement, this program seeks to:
